| Membership Overview At its core, InfraGard's strength and effectiveness is based upon the subject matter expertise of its trusted membership. An InfraGard member is a private-sector volunteer with an inherent concern for national security. Driven to protect their own industry and further motivated to share their professional and personal knowledge to safeguard the country, InfraGard members connect to a national network of Subject Matter Experts, communicate with federal law enforcement and government agencies through their local InfraGard chapters, and contribute to the security and protection of our national infrastructure from threats and attacks. Requirements InfraGard membership is granted on an individual basis. Each individual InfraGard member must be a citizen of the United States. They must submit a signed, completed membership application. In doing so, they are agreeing to undergo a limited background check, including a check of their criminal record. In signing the membership application, prospective members are also agreeing to protect the information they receive via InfraGard. This protection is defined as treating the information as "Business Confidential" and not disclosing the information beyond its intended scope.
Prospective members should carefully review the membership application before signing and submitting it to the FBI.
